Introduction: Recording the experience of communication between health service users and administrative staff can be an important indicator of quality and may contribute significantly to the transformation of the health system.
Aim: The present study aimed to translate the tool Health Care Communication Questionnaire (HCCQ) in Greek and test psychometric properties in Greek health service users.
Materials and Methods: 525 questionnaires were collected from health service recipients who visited a General Secondary Hospital in Greece. Reliability and internal consistency were determined by the calculation of Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. It was also implemented Confirmatory factor analysis Using Kaiser – Meyer – Olkin (KMO) and Bartlett controls.
Results: The questionnaire HCCQ παρουσίασε αποδεκτή τιμή αξιοπιστίας εσωτερικής συνέπειας με cronbach alpha πάνω από 0,80 για όλες τις διαστάσεις. KMO=0.94 and Bartlett=4970.29 (p=0.000) showed that the data were suitable for factor analysis. The CFA showed that the oblique four-factor model matched the data well (RMSEA=0.06, CFI=0.95 and NFI=0.90).
Conclusions: The Greek version of the Health Care Communication Questionnaire (HCCQ) proved to be a reliable and valid tool with good psychometric properties. Credibility and internal consistency are high and can be used in Greek-speaking health service recipients to measure their experience of communicating with administrators.
