Childbirth scene evaluation for the growth of positive emotions

The passage to maternity and childbirth in particular is a unique occasion for the woman and her company to experience positive affect and discrete positive emotions (as described by Fredrickson), as well as the feeling of “flow” (as described by Csikszentmihalyi). The role of health professionals is to create suitable conditions, via courses of preparation for childbirth, in order to help all women in labour to experience childbirth as a unique positive event. The positive emotions that are developed at childbirth are love, interest, triumph, contentment, joy can offer emotional and psychological resources to the new mother so that she will be given the chance to overcome any difficulties and/or the possibility of postpartum blues or depression.
