Myocardial infarction is a devastating event for the patient and his family. The nurse has to care for a patient in a psychological and physical crisis as well as start the rehabilitation process. The teaching required for rehabilitation must not be limited to the simple transmission of facts and skills but activate the patient’s engagement in the learning process so as to understand his real condition, commit himself in adhering to the prescription and change at the same time his way of life. In order to achieve effective teaching the required skills of the nurse need to be based on specific objectives and methodologies. So, preparation of nurses for teaching should be a priority in nursing education. The research studies under examination answer questions such as compliance to the regimen, relationship of stress with the ability to learn and the most appropriate content and methodology for an effective program.
